The Block Australia's first ever celebrity contestants have spoken of their issues with their non-famous co-stars.

Model Elyse Knowles, 24, and her long-haired beau Josh Barker, 28, said the competitive nature of some contestants frightened her.

'It scared the crap out of me,' the blonde beauty told OK! magazine this week.

Tasked with renovating an entire block in Melbourne's Elsternwick, alongside four other couples, it clearly wasn't the workload that had the model stressed.

'There's a lot of competitive people in this game,' Elyse bemoaned of the other contestants, who were battling for a chance to win the competition. 

'It was definitely scary. I didn't know what we were in for, to be honest.'

Despite being shocked that the people she'd signed up to spend 12-weeks with were so victory-minded, the star insisted her and her beau held their own. FULL ARTICLE HERE
